Coach Hughes is a graduate of Pickerington High School North, where she was a four-year letter winner in cross county and track and field, specializing in the mile and 800m run. She earned her degree in Integrated Mathematics from Capital University. She is currently the Gifted Coordinator for Bloom-Carroll Schools, where she was previously a middle and high school math teacher. 

Coach Hughes currently trains with the Columbus Running Company elite team and enjoys running marathons. She qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon in April 2019, placed 2nd at the Atlanta Marathon in March 2020, and most recently finished 9th at the Columbus Marathon in October 2021 with a time of 2:58:54. She lives in Pickerington with her dog, Bear. 

This is her 8th year on staff with BCTF.
